CARBORUNDUM

This class is offered for adults (18 years and older) and will meet on the following Mondays: December 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th from 6 - 9:00 p.m.

This course is designed for any level printmaker; beginner to experienced. We will create imagery on Plexiglas plates using carborundum grits and polymer adhesive. We will take each plate through stages of additive and subtractive drawing, shape-making and value-making without the time consuming techniques of traditional etching. Since these can be ever-changing plates, each student has a chance to experiment with the gritty elegance of Carborundum grits and the provocative, fuzziness of drypoint (scratched) lines.
