CLASSES AT THE MEC STUDIO
The First Adult Class is Scheduled! Join me for a 5 session workshop on Linocut Printmaking. This class is offered for adults (18 years and older) and will meet on the following dates:
All Four Tuesdays in May: May 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th from 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Linocut Printmaking:
In this class you'll learn how to compose an appealing image (I like to start with self-portraits), transfer that image onto a block, carve the block and ink and print the block. This is a form of printmaking that does not require a press, so once you've done this class you'll have the know-how to do this at home. Instruction includes detailed demonstrations of step-by-step processes, safety tips with the required tools, on the spot problem solving each step of the way and general information about Fine Art Printmaking techniques, framing suggestions and vendors for materials. You also get one-on one consultation with me throughout the making of your project and group discussions and constructive critiques about each other's art.

What to expect in a workshop or class:
Are you curious about what really happens in a printmaking studio? Why not take a class? I'll be conducting classes and workshops on a number of printmaking and bookmaking techniques, as well as the Vandercook typesetting press.
Classes and workshops range from Introductory level instruction where you can just dip your toe in, to longer, once a week sessions that dive deeper into the subtleties of this complex art form. Class sizes will be small and will be geared toward a range of ages and experience.
